Senior Ensemble Theatre
In 2015, QTEd started its Senior Ensemble Theatre (SET) program, a performance program for senior citizens in partnership with local senior centers. When DLCA launched its SU-CASA Program for seniors, and with support from local council members, QT’s program expanded to more senior centers. The centers are given a choice between storytelling, dance, or choral group workshops. In storytelling, seniors write and perform an original show based on their own lives. Dance participants are instructed in choreography from musicals, contemporary dance, and pop favorites. Choral groups are coached in vocal technique, performance, and song selection. All culminate with performances at the centers and at on-stage at Queens Theatre.
