Since its founding in 1994, Stages of Learning has had a positive impact on more than 40,000 children and their teachers in the New York City metropolitan area.  Through partnerships with schools, Stages of Learning builds on the schools' regular curriculum through literacy and theatre in grade 3-6. Using physical and vocal expression, Stages of Learning engages all children — including many who struggle with traditional teaching methods—over a 12 or 20 week session.
In addition, Stages of Learning is home to The Chekhov Theatre Ensemble. This award-winning resident company of actors trained in the methodology of Russian master Michael Chekhov offers training and professional development to Stages of Learning's teaching artists.
