Queens Theatre in the Park is delighted to announce the fast-approaching Chase Latino Cultural Festival 2009! The festival was originally founded to celebrate the contributions of Latin American artists to the ever-changing cultural landscape of New York City and now it has become a staple of the Queens and larger New York City community for people from all walks of life to join in the festivities. The celebration begins on July 30th, 2009 with Afro-Cuban dance group, Oyu Oro, and concludes on August 9th, 2009 with Mexican jarocho legend Don Fallo and the youthful Son Candela.

Plays Written and Performed by Students in 24 Schools will be performed at Queens Theatre in the Park as part of the CENTRESTAGE PROGRAM.
Rehearsals and Performances of short works by students in 24 Schools will grace the stage of Queens Theatre in the Park beginning Wednesday June 10-Sunday, June 14. Material written by students includes plays about bullying, self esteem, hopes, dreams and even an allegory about 4th graders enslaved by 5th graders called "A Time of Hope."
